Bed Bug Life. Female bed bugs can lay anywhere between 1 and 5 eggs per day. Bed bugs must take a blood meal in order to molt from one nymphal stage to another (they have five nymphal stages).

During its lifetime, a bed bug will go through the following stages (starting from the top left, moving counterclockwise): The life of a bed bug begins when they lay grainy, pearl white eggs. The adult bed bug life span is between 6 to 18 months.

The bed bug life cycle is much like any other creature. The bed bug starts as an egg and eventually becomes an adult after so many blood meals. At this point, they are able to breed. Bed bugs are smart enough to hide in the crevices and keep out of the daylight, meaning they are one pest that you should not underestimate.
